The Story of Hair Menders In 1953 Ray Grimes (at the urging of his uncle Woody Wells) left the cotton farm to begin his journey to creating one of the most successful haircutting establishments in the Dallas area. With a list of clients that included Dandy Don Meredith, H.L. Nelms, and many of Dallas’most successful
businessmen, Ray would eventually grow this business north of Dallas to Lewisville. His son Ron and daughter Connie would join him to create Hair Menders and set new standards for men and womens hair and skin care. Many clients would commute from Dallas to Lewisville to follow Ray and continue their lifelong relationships. His uncle Woody began and worked in
the premier barber salon in Northpark Center well into his eighties. While
near death, Woody encouraged his very successful nephew to retire
and Ray did retire in 2006. Two generations later, Ron and three of his daughters are now handling the family salon business and Connie is a successful assistant director at Coldwater Creek Spa.
